What defines a true a local independent business? Reasonable prices? Perhaps excellent customer service? No doubt these can be considered as factors when describing a good business establishment...especially if we're talking food.
Despite the changes in & around the Lake & Washington area of Pasadena, Bonnie B's Smokin BBQ has shed light on the community. Bonnie & Betty Henderson introduced Oklahoma-style BBQ to the world-famous City of Roses just a few years ago and it has completely taken off!
The food here is the bomb! Since I eat off a certain budget, I enjoy the $4.95 daily specials that fills me up & keep me satisfied. I can't stress enough how good Bonnie's secret sauce is. It compliments anything you eat with it and the taste far surpasses your average BBQ & steak sauces. I usually get the Chicken Salad Sandwich with a side order of baked beans & sometimes potato salad. I always leave happy :)
It is always a pleasure to dine-in and eat. With smooth jazz playing softly in the background it brings a warm calming to my spirit. The aroma has me anticipating my order all the more. I also appreciate all of the historical pieces that the place is decked out with. Muhammad Ali, Martin luther King, and many notable others. It works it's purpose and serves as a positive reflection to the owners of this esatblishment.
Beyond food, Bonnie & Betty Henderson have shown an unconditional love to the North Lake community with their humble-loving touch. Just the wonderful customer service alone makes me outrule any other place to spend my money regardless of the cost.
If you ask us, Bonnie B's Smokin is a ONE-OF-A-KIND restaurant establishment. Not taking anything away from Big Mama's Rib Shack (just a block & a half north on Lake), but we see no competition for Bonnie B's Smokin' BBQ in that area. After being Zagat-rated much earlier than your typical restaurants and receiving many other great reviews, Bonnie B's Smokin' is sure to succeed. And we appreciate them in our community!
